|Planned, coordinated, directed and supervised all Horticultural and Operational activities of the Queens Botanical Garden which included horticultural, security, and maintenance operations. Established and managed programs to plan and control maintenance operations; established inventory control of rolling stock, equipment and supplies; established operational schedules and routines for horticulture. Developed budgets for horticulture, maintenance and security. Initiated renovation of the Children’s Teaching Gardens — Bee Garden, Bird Garden, Woodland Garden, Herb Garden, and Ethnic Good Garden. Cooperated with local nurserymen to refurbish the Backyard Gardens. Developed plans for rebuilding the All-America Selections Garden. Directed and supervised Plant Shop operations to include restructuring management, physical layout and visual appeal; and increased gross sales by 25%. Participated in Union negotiations. Developed and supervised QGB’s Drought Emergency Plan. Participated in Gardens of the Orient, and Master Plan discussions and development. Assisted staff with special events and promotions.
Supervised the Garden Foreman, Chief of Security and Maintenance, and Plant Shop Manager. Staff of 22.
